Guy Crittenden, Editor-in-Chief

Guy Crittenden is editor of Solid Waste & Recycling magazine, Canada's magazine on all issues related to waste management, recycling, composting, processing, hauling and disposal. The magazine is read by managers and practitioners in both the municipal and industrial, commercial and institutional waste (IC&I) sectors, and covers policy issues as well as the practical "shop floor" and technical dimensions of this rapidly changing industry.

Gordon McGuinty

Gordon McGuinty is a well-known waste entrepreneur and businessman. A lively and engaging speaker, McGuinty is also the author of the book "Trashed: How Political Garbage Made the United States Canada's Largest Dump" about his 14-year odyssey attempting to build the Adams Mine landfill project near Kirkland Lake, Ontario. An entrepreneur for over 30 years, Gordon McGuinty was responsible for the Rail Cycle North consortium, which included some of North America's largest rail and waste corporations and was awarded the largest waste management contract in Canada. Today, when he's not speaking to interested audiences, he divides his time between his residence in the mountains of Alberta and his office in Ontario.

Wes Muir

Wes Muir is Director of Corporate Communications for Waste Management Inc., responsible for external communications and public affairs across North America including the development and management of strategies and programs in support of the company’s renewable energy, recycling and corporate development business groups, corporate branding/reputation and environmental sustainability initiative and media and social media.
Wes has also held senior positions with public affairs and communications agencies in Canada and the United States providing communications counsel and support to a wide range of industry sectors including natural resources, environment, energy, financial, health and consumer products and services.

Paul van der Werf

Paul van der Werf is President of London-Ontario-based 2cg Inc. and has been involved in the business of waste prevention and diversion for the last 20 years. A recognized organic waste and composting expert he has in recent years delved into the business of recycling and sustainability planning. A contributing editor, he writes the popular Organics Matters column for the magazine.

Usman Valiante

Usman Valiante is a senior policy analyst with Corporate Policy Group LLP and a long-time contributing editor to Solid Waste and Recycling magazine.
